    International Roaming

How do I enjoy free roaming services? Roaming service is now available in Malaysia and Indonesia as part of TPG free service trial. You will need to: 1. Ensure your TPG SIM card is active for at least 24 hours while in Singapore before your trip to allow your SIM to be automatically updated with the latest parameters. 2. Enable Data Roaming when you are in one of our free trial roaming destinations. 3. Set the Network Selection in your mobile device to 'Automatic'. Alternatively, you may manually select YTL/ YES 4G in Malaysia or Smartfren in Indonesia. 4. Ensure your mobile device is configured with TPG APN Settings. The list of devices supported on YTL / YES 4G network can be found here. For Smartfren, the list can be found here. What is included in the roaming plan? You can enjoy free unlimited data roaming in Malaysia and Indonesia at 1mbps. If you are using a TPG VoLTE supported mobile device, you will be able to make and receive calls to Singapore mobile and fixed lines from your existing service trial plan and all incoming SMS will be free. Are outgoing calls to Malaysian/Indonesian mobile and fixed lines supported? Roaming calls to Malaysia and Indonesia mobile and fixed lines will be available in the near future. What are the charges if I exceeded my plan limits? If you have exceeded the usage, the usage type will be barred for the remainder of the monthly billing period except for Data. Will you be extending unlimited data roaming to other countries? Yes! We will be launching more exciting roaming products. Do keep a lookout on this page for the latest update.
  3. TPG is pleased to announce that, as part of a strategic collaboration with Mediacorp, Toggle and MeRadio traffic are now zero-rated on its network. TPG’s subscribers are now able to stream Toggle’s videos and MeRadio’s radio stations without using their data allowance. TPG’s General Manager Richard Tan said, “We are delighted to bring this exclusive Toggle and MeRadio offer to our customers. We are helping friends and family connect with our new mobile network as well as providing value-added services with access to radio and video streaming content.” Mediacorp’s Head for Digital Products & Technology Anil Nihalani said, “Mediacorp is glad to partner TPG in enhancing the value for their customers to enjoy our content on their mobile devices. As Singapore’s largest content creator, we offer rich and diverse programmes on both Toggle and MeRadio, which TPG customers can now consume on the go without having to worry about their data usage charges. This initiative highlights TPG’s bold consumer-centric approach and we are pleased to be working with a like-minded partner in them.” Last month, TPG shook up the Singapore telco market by announcing the launch of free unlimited data roaming in Malaysia and Indonesia. Mr. Tan added, “We continue to welcome everyone to sign up for our free 12 months mobile service trial plan. We have plans to bring more customer benefits and innovations to the market.” The Service Trial plan is still open for registration at www.tpgmobile.sg. TPG looks forward to more customers experiencing its mobile network ahead of the full commercial launch.
  4. IMPORTANT NOTICE – ONLINE SAFETY AND PHISHING SCAMS TPG advocates and encourages all our subscriber to remain vigilant about phishing scams and online security breaches. It is important to exercise discretion and caution when revealing personal data to unverified sources. We’ve created this online safety guide to help our subscribers protect themselves. What is phishing? Phishing is a cybercrime where potential victims are lured into providing sensitive data such as personal information, bank, and credit card details, account usernames, and passwords. The cyber-criminal sends phishing emails, SMS, or online messages posing as authentic messages from a legitimate institution (e.g. bank, service provider, social networking site, etc) that the potential victim has dealings with. The collected information can then be sold off to other cyber-criminals and used to access the victim's various accounts for purposes of stealing their identity or withdrawing money from their banks and credit cards. Scammers often detect the IP address of your internet connection (whether it be on mobile or your home internet connection) to ascertain your telecommunications provider. By adding your provider’s name to the phishing attempt, scammers attempt to add false legitimacy to their message. Common phishing scams Emails that look like they are from your bank or telecommunications provider, asking you to click on a link to update your bank details on a fake website Online advertisements or pop-up messages are seen while browsing which informs you’ve won a prize or lottery or have an unclaimed refund Suspicious or out-of-character messages or posts on social media from a friend asking you to click a link. This usually happens if your friend’s account is being accessed by a scammer (human or machine) designed to phish, scam or infect other accounts. Websites impersonating a charity or shop, or made to look like popular websites, with slightly different spelling in the website address Telephone calls from someone pretending to be from a company you interact with, asking you to confirm all your personal or payment information before they will give you an important message Common “hooks” of phishing attempts and tips for dealing with them Too good to be true - They usually have attention-grabbing statements like you have won an iPhone, a holiday, a lottery, or that you will be receiving a large sum of money. Remember that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. It's best to be suspicious and cautious of such messages. Links - Phishing attempts almost always include a link or a button that is just begging to be clicked. Once clicked, it often leads to a fake website that mimics the look and feel of a legitimate institution's real website. Viruses and other malware may also end up infecting your device upon clicking such links. If you receive any suspicious emails with links in them, simply copy the link and paste it into Google. If it's a common scam, you'll see plenty of search results about it. Request for personal information: Ask yourself why your personal information is being requested, especially if the request appears to come from an organisation that should already have your details. Head directly to the bank's (or other organisation's) website as you normally would instead of using any links in the email. If they really do require you to update your details, you will almost always be notified after you log in. If you’re concerned, ring your bank or visit your local branch to see if they know what's going on. Threats - Another approach used by cyber-criminals is creating fear that something is at risk, like your bank account getting closed or your internet service getting suspended. These statements cause concern and are hard to ignore. Remember, you can always contact your bank or mobile service provider to confirm exactly what's going on. Sense of Urgency - An impending account closure or a time-limited prize pressures the victim to act immediately and disregard common sense to first verify the truth of the message Poor grammar – Often phishing attempts can include unusual phrasing, poor grammar or spelling, broken formatting or images that don’t load properly. The company’s name may be listed slightly differently, for example, “TPG Internet” instead of “TPG Telecom”. Attachments - Phishing attempts may also entice you to open an attachment, like photos, videos, documents, etc. Viruses and other malware may end up infecting your device upon opening such attachments. To protect yourself, do not open or download any attachment if you do not know or trust the sender. Check the sender’s email address (not just their name). Contact from a company you don’t deal with – For example, you receive a message from a bank or a company you aren’t with. Ask yourself why you would be receiving a refund or needing to pay an invoice to a company you don’t have a relationship with Example of phishing attempts What to do if you think you’ve received a scam message purporting to be from TPG Please do remember, TPG will never send an unsolicited email, SMS, or message requesting you to provide your username, password, personal and banking details. If you've received a suspicious email, SMS, or message purporting to be from TPG, you should forward it as an attachment to support@tpgmobile.sg. Always make sure the URL (website address) such as https://www.tpgmobile.sg/ or https://novus.tpgmobile.sg/ is spelled correctly in the address bar of your web browser Do not click any links, survey forms or buttons in the phishing message. Do not open or save any attachment For more information on phishing scams in Singapore and how to spot them, visit the Ministry of Communications and Information website: https://www.csa.gov.sg/gosafeonline/go-safe-for-me/homeinternetusers/spot-signs-of-phishing.
